According to the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, India now ranks 38th out of 139 nations in the 7th edition of the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index 2023, an improvement of 6 spots.

Developed By: The LPI 2023 was developed by World Bank Group as an interactive benchmarking tool to assist nations in identifying the opportunities and difficulties they have in their performance on trade logistics and what they can do to enhance their performance. Comparative analysis across 139 nations is possible with the LPI 2023.

The LPI 2023 takes consideration of six parameters to assess logistics performance, they are:

  1. Customs
  2. Infrastructure
  3. International shipments
  4. Logistics quality and competence
  5. Tracking and tracing
  6. Timeliness
Top 5 countries with their respective scores:
1. Singapore        (4.3)
2. Finland            (4.2)
3. Denmark         (4.1)
3. Germany         (4.1)
3. Netherlands     (4.1)

With a score of 3.4, India placed at 38th rank along with Lithuania, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.
